JENNIFER CURTIS BENEFIT FOR OCLW

Internationally acclaimed violinist and Chapel Hill native Jennifer Curtis combines a passion for music with a commitment to hometown fairness and prosperity.  Celebrate Jennifer’s virtuosity – and the work of other locals making good by paying their employees a living wage.  This intimate solo program features Bach and Enescu, and an original composition by Jennifer Curtis.

Tickets are $25 and available at www.orangecountylivingwage.org or by emailing info@orangecountylivingwage.org.  All proceeds support Orange County Living Wage.

We welcome Planned Parenthood’s Chapel Hill Health Center to our more than 100 certified living wage employers.  The 28 employees in the health center provide an important safety-net for our community, offering confidential and affordable care including birth control consultation and supplies, emergency contraception, gynecological exams, cancer screenings, pregnancy testing, STI testing and treatment, HIV testing, and many other vital services to the community.

We thank the editors of the Daily Tar Heel for their support in our efforts to promote a living wage in Orange County and the more than 100 living wage employers certified by our team.  They remind us to “make a conscious effort to support local businesses that pay a living wage” and “prove that profit-seeking and fair compensation are not mutually exclusive goals”.  Click here for the full article.
